REALTORS® to Tell Lawmakers Rent Control is Bad Idea for Illinois

Illinois REALTORS® issued its first Call for Action of 2019 on Monday, urging its more than 50,000 members to tell lawmakers in Springfield that Rent Control is a bad idea for the state. One of four Rent Control bills (HB 255) could be called for a committee hearing on Wednesday, so prompt action by members is key. Members can participate now. Hotline Change Part of Legal Services' Efforts to Serve Members Better

For the first time in 25 years, REALTORS® who use the Legal Hotline will not be connected with General Counsel and Vice President of Legal Services Betsy Urbance (right). That's because Anneliese Fierstos (left) is the new Illinois REALTORS® Legal Hotline Attorney. There will be a "transition period," so for a little while members might be visiting with Betsy and Anneliese. The change will allow Urbance and other members of the Legal Team to concentrate on corporate legal matters, legislation and other legal services like the House Counsel program. Find out more.

Registration Opens at Noon for REALTOR® Lobby Day on April 30

Check with your local association to see if it is bringing a bus to Springfield. It's just one day out of 365. Make a difference!
