Band, Flyover Part of Bicentennial Plaza Dedication

Music, dignitaries and an Illinois Army National Guard fly-over marked the dedication of the Bicentennial Plaza -- a REALTOR® Community Partnership on Sunday. The dedication was a Signature Legacy Event of the Illinois Bicentennial. Gov. Bruce Rauner, first lady Diana Rauner and Springfield Mayor Jim Langfelder joined the celebration. Read more.

Association's Executive Team Backs Plan to Go Without President in 2019

The Illinois REALTORS® Executive Committee is recommending the association go without filling the president's position in 2019. The recommendation comes after president-elect Dan Wagner's decision to resign on Aug. 13. After exploring many scenarios, President Matt Difanis said the committee determined this is the best course of action. Read his explanation or watch his video.

Rauner Vetoes 'Retainage' Bill; Had Been Focus of Call for Action

Late last week, Gov. Bruce Rauner vetoed a bill which would have mandated "retainage" provisions in private construction contracts. The veto came several months after thousands of Illinois REALTORS® responded to two Calls for Action. Senate Bill 3052 would have dictated the amount of money a developer could hold back paying to a contractor on a project to ensure work was completed satisfactorily. Get a recap.
