Fight Against Retainage Bill Continues After Close House Vote

The fate of Senate Bill 3052 is in the hands of Gov. Bruce Rauner after the Illinois House barely gained enough votes to approve it on the eve of adjournment last week. If the bill becomes law, it will limit the percentage of costs that real estate developers can hold back from paying contractors until the project is completed. SLC Program Provides Visibility, Leverage on Property Rights Issues

Leadership experience with his local association and the National Association of REALTORS® has helped Bloomington-area REALTOR® Ed Neaves gain a greater perspective on the advocacy of state legislative contacts (SLC). Neaves is one of many SLCs matched with 177 state legislators. He serves as SLC for Jason Barickman, 53rd District.

Foundation Accepting Donations in Parker Oldenettel's Name

REALTORS® who want to honor the memory of Parker Oldenettel can make online donations to the Illinois Real Estate Educational Foundation (REEF) in his name. Parker died suddenly on May 20. He was the son of Illinois REALTORS® Past President Michael D. Oldenettel, also a former REEF President. Make a donation here.
